What is OLET?
As the Online Learning and Educational Technology team of Information Technology Services, OLET supports and promotes the effective faculty use of content delivery and instructional technology to help facilitate student growth and development by:
- integrating evidence-based pedagogical best practices to increase student engagement and knowledge retention
- training faculty on the use of instructional technology
- providing administration and support of online academic tools
- researching and developing new, creative, and engaging instructional tools and technologies that enhance teaching and learning experiences.
Who is OLET?
The Online Learning and Educational Technology team supports faculty and students in their endeavors to create and engage in positive and successful learning environments, both in the classroom and online. The OLET staff also administer the learning management system (LMS) and its various tools.
The team consists of instructional designers, technology coordinators, and system administrators, all of whom are academic innovators who support the community in a unique way.
Instructional designers collaborate with instructors to design and develop courses that best support the faculty member and their students, and they ensure courses meet state standards while teaching instructors how to implement new tools to enhance the overall learning experience for everyone involved.
Technology coordinators and system administrators handle changes to the system such as training faculty on new and innovative technologies, providing ongoing support for verifying and adding new tools, and copying courses.
